The Pause

The Pause

All students at John Colet are taught The Pause.

The Pause is a little interval between lessons to re-charge yourself without doing anything but just being quiet for a moment or two.  If people practise this they would find that they had great power within, and the potentiality of realising themselves.

-      Shantananda Saraswati

Before and after each lesson a short dedication in Sanskrit is said: Om Paramatmane Nama (To the Supreme Lord a Bow)

This gives the children a breathing space and a moment's rest between the many varied activities in their day.  Cumulatively it introduces the children to a pathway to inner peace.
