On Tuesday, 4th Class took part in a variety of different science experiments all in the spirit of Science Week. This term 4th Class have been focusing on Heat. We were learning about Endothermic and Exothermic reactions as well as the difference between hot, cold and room temperature water and how molecules move faster when they are warmer and slower when they are colder. This was simply shown by adding food colouring. We saw great results. We also made our own thermometers, that actually worked! And finally for a bit of fun and pleasure, we made sherbet and talked about chemical reactions. A fantastic and rather messy afternoon.

4th class J had a special guest science presenter in their lesson on heat reactions.  Miss Jackson’s sister, Alethea,  is doing a science degree majoring in Chemistry, and she popped in to share her expertise with the class.
