A big week in Athletics

We had another fantastic turnout for the Beach2Beach Fun Run this year, with our JCS Team having 110 participants, making us the second-largest team after Stella Maris College! The weather was glorious, and everyone enjoyed the event, whether they chose to walk or run the 3k, 6k, or 13k distance. It was a wonderful day of fun and community spirit! A big thank you to parents James D and Maraya B for volunteering and helping out at the stand.

We had an amazing day at the Athletics Carnival the following day at the Sydney Academy of Sport and Rec! The sun was shining, and there was a gentle breeze, making it the perfect day for some fantastic sporting fun. Our students gave it their all in the track and field events, showing incredible dedication and sportsmanship.
A highlight of the day was the parent races, where our wonderful parents showcased their athletic talents and added to the fun atmosphere. A big thank you to our teachers, staff, and parent volunteers for making the day a success. The sense of community and joy was truly amazing!
We hope everyone left with wonderful memories. Go Team John Colet!

And then on Wednesday (28th August), 32 talented students from John Colet School participated in the IPSHA Athletics Carnival held at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre. This prestigious event was an incredible experience, especially with the recent Olympics adding an extra layer of excitement. Our students competed against large fields, with some events like the 100m sprint featuring over 120 participants. The sunny weather created the perfect setting for a day filled with outstanding performances, and our students truly made us proud!
