Attendance
SCHOOL START AND FINISH TIMES
Classrooms open at 8:05 am. Please note there is no supervision before this time.
The school day begins with the bell at 8:25 am.
The final bell rings at 3:05 pm, with dismissal at 3:10 pm from the Pick-Up Zone.
ABSENCE AND LATE ARRIVALS
To ensure the safety of all students, we must be informed of all absences and late arrivals.
If your child is absent, please notify the Office by 9:00 am via email at attendance@johncolet.nsw.edu.au or by phone on (02) 9451 8395. If you notify the Office by phone, a follow-up email or written note is required upon your child’s return.
Students arriving after 8:30 am must report to the Office to collect a Late Pass. Please ensure your child does this each time they are late, even if it is a regular occurrence due to appointments or other commitments.
Late Pick-Up
The Pick-Up Zone remains open until 3:20 pm. Children who are not collected by that time will be taken to Reception, where they will wait until 3:30 pm. If they have not been picked up by 3:30 pm, they will be signed into the After School Care program, which is held in the Dining Hall.
Families must be registered for After School Care (registration is free of charge) and will be billed for attendance in line with the program’s current fee schedule.
EXTENDED LEAVE OF ABSENCE
Requests for leave other than due to illness or unforeseen circumstances must be submitted using the Application for Extended Leave Form and forwarded to the Head of School for approval.
EARLY DEPARTURE
If your child needs to leave early, a parent or guardian must report to the Office and complete an Early Dismissal Note before taking the child off campus.
PICK UP BY SOMEONE OTHER THAN THE PRIMARY CARER
If someone other than the primary carer or a previously approved person will be collecting your child, please notify the School Office by 2:30 pm. This information will be shared with Camp Australia (our After School Care provider) if relevant.
