For over 40 years, John Colet School in Belrose has offered a classical education grounded in strong traditions, academic excellence, and character development. Central to our approach is the belief that great works – like those of Shakespeare – speak to all generations, especially young minds.
Each year, every child at John Colet School performs in a Shakespeare play. From Kindergarten to Year 6, our students step into the language, rhythm and wonder of the Bard’s world. It’s a tradition close to the heart of Bell Shakespeare’s Founding Artistic Director, John Bell AO, who visited our school regularly for many years to watch our students bring these plays to life.
Like Bell Shakespeare, we believe that drama and literature are not just for the stage, but for shaping thoughtful, articulate and confident individuals.
At John Colet School, Shakespeare is just the beginning. Our students also learn choral singing and Sanskrit – part of a rich curriculum designed to nurture intellect, creativity and inner stillness.
