Jan Latta, an Australian wildlife photographer, author and Northern Sydney branch President of the CBCA (Children’s Book Council of Australia), came to speak to our primary students today to kick off our book celebrations!
Jan has a special interest in wild land animals that are either endangered or face extinction. She spoke to the students about her adventures into the wild, trying to find the animals to study and photograph. The stories she told &.!! Wow!! The children were glued to her every word and learnt so many wonderful things about wild animals.
Jan then showed us her selection of books, all featuring a different wild animal. They are written with primary-aged children in mind and display her photographs so beautifully.
What a great start to Book Week!
