The lunchtime activity groups have got off to a great start. Around 17 students from 5th and 6th class meet during Thursday lunchtime each week. Mrs Geary got things rolling by exploring the wheel. Students made a model vehicle complete with axles, turning wheels and devices to hold the wheel on. Milk cartons formed the base in one version, then wine carton packaging was used to make a 3D shape from a flat ‘net’. Champagne corks were also involved. Now the group is working with Mr McDermott using plastic model sets, complete with detailed instruction sheets.
Meanwhile Mrs Donald is taking a smaller tapestry group on Wednesday lunchtimes. They have started with the basic stitches and will complete small sampler projects.
