We had a wonderful day in art class recently when a Mum of a student in one of our infant classes shared her love of Chinese New Year with the children of Upper First Class.
The children loved performing the Chinese Lion dance with drums, costumes and cymbals.
This process of examining art through culture applies also to Aboriginal, Indian and Islamic art teaching at John Colet. This gives the children a deeper understanding and appreciation of different cultures.
