Art 2020

One of our art teachers runs extra-curricular art lessons after school, in her own studio. For enquiries and session times, please contact the art department.

Chess 2020

Classes are held weekly by qualified tutors from the Sydney Academy of Chess.  Lower 1st Chess will start this term during Wednesday recess.

Timetable and Costs are as follows:

Beginner Chess – Wednesday Recess 10:20 – 10:45 $50 (Lower 1st)
Infants Chess – Wednesday Lunch 12:20-12:45 $50 (Upper 1st and Second Class)
Primary Chess – Monday Afternoon 3:05-4:00 $90 (3rd Class – 6th Class)
Senior Chess  – Monday Afternoon 3:05-4:00 $90 (by invitation only)


Fencing 2020

Monday lunchtimes, open to Upper First students and older

Fee: $167.50 per term
All equipment provided. Students to wear sports shoes.

Garden Club 2020

German club 2020

Our German language club is on Wednesdays 3.05pm – 4.45pm in Colet 1.

Individual Music Lessons 2020

Private Instrumental and Vocal lessons are held in the Music Centre during school hours by highly qualified and experienced musicians.
Fees: $43 per half hour.
Instruments: Clarinet, Flute, Guitar, Piano, Violin, Viola.
(Please note that private music lessons during school hours are not permitted for Lower 1st students).
Instrumental lessons are a direct arrangement between Instrumental Teacher and Parent.

JCS String Tuition 2020

Rosy Johnston will be returning to JCS this term, teaching private violin and viola lessons commencing Monday 3rd February.

JCS Chamber Ensemble 2020

Our instrumental music ensemble will be on Friday at 3.05 – 4pm, with the first rehearsal on:
Friday 7th February, at 3.05pm-4pm.

The group is open to all instruments, strings, winds, brass, percussion, and keys, with a level of playing above 1st Grade AMEB or equivalent. To join please register with Rosy Johnston via email

4th & 5th Class Latin – Wed Afternoon 2:20pm – 3:05pm in 5K classroom (lessons start after Swimming Carnival day)

Sailing Club 2020

Shakespeare Club 2020

(by audition for 5th and 6th Class students)
Wednesday mornings from 7:30am-8:15am in the Music Room from Week 3, Term 1

Shakespeare club will then finish in approximately  Week 3 or 4 of Term 3
COST: $45 per student

The aim of the club is to perform at various events including the Northern Beaches Eisteddfod as well as any other opportunities that are presented to us. Students must be available on a Saturday and/or Sunday for these performances. The information regarding the performances will be provided closer to the event with plenty of notice.

Sewing Club 2020

Wednesday lunchtimes, after lunch service, in the library.

Sewing classes will start after Swimming Carnival day, however Mrs Donald will see individual students earlier to get them started on their projects.

Yoga, Stretch and Meditation for kids 2020

Thursday mornings 7.45 – 8.15am
MacLaren Hall.

All ages are welcome.
All mats and props will be provided.

Class size is limited to 12 children.
Term 3 costs: $120 per child
