This morning we held our annual Public Speaking Competition. Over the last few years this has developed into a wonderful event that really showcases the children’s ability not only to write well, but to confidently deliver in front of an audience. Recently one of our parents Mr Javier Christie came to speak to the children about public speaking, and it was evident today that a number of children had listened to and followed his advice. In addition to the speakers, it was a great opportunity for the 6th class children who hosted the event. The two comperes were excellent often speaking off the cuff themselves. Finally, the children who made up the audience conducted themselves with respect by remaining attentive through all the speeches. This included the Lower 1st children.  This House competition adds to the range of learning opportunities offered to the children.
