As part of their unit on money, this week Upper First M learnt about the bartering system. Students discussed how some societies do not use a formal currency but instead swap goods and services. Students embraced the role-playing activity with many shopkeepers and customers haggling enthusiastically. By the end of the activity students had developed their bartering skills enabling them to purchase multiple items and even calculate change.
