Garden Whispers

Last Friday the Garden Club saw how our garden had fared over the holidays. The garden beds definitely needed some loving care. So under Theresa’s guidance, we took out all many of the old plants that had gone to seed, and removed all the scarecrows, who looked a bit droopy and sad. They will be recycled in a fun scarecrow making workshop at some stage. After that, compost and wet hay (recycled from the scarecrow guts) were enthusiastically applied, to rejuvenate the soil.
This week the children shall plant seedlings and decide what they would like to have in the garden this Autumn.
We enjoyed seeing the beautiful passionfruit flowers. Hopefully some fruit will follow!
There are still places in garden club if your child would like to attend.
Fridays 3.15 to 4.15pm. $10 per child. Meet near Top House.
