This week in Science Week, John Colet students have been looking at ways to reduce, reuse and recycle plastics.
Today everyone had a good look at what their recess snacks were wrapped in, in order to choose the correct bin for disposing of their rubbish during playtime. (Students don’t bring lunch to school because a cooked vegetarian lunch is provided.)
There will be another recess wrapper rubbish audit on Thursday, which is our school-wide Nude Food day. We hope as many people as possible will avoid using single-use plastic or other wrappers to bring in their recess snacks.
Students will also learn how to make beeswax food wraps, and in art, students are making reusable T shirt bags to bring their lunch plates to school in.
