Both Upper First classes have been investigated measuring Area and Perimeter. We used grids to measure area and units to cover the area. We recorded these in our Math Grid Books. We then marked out perimeters with tape and began to calculate and record these.
Some reflecting on our learning revealed that we knew ‘area measures the inside space’ and ‘perimeter measures the outside’.
