Head of School’s Comment

Today we took time to commemorate Anzac Day. We had a lovely service, including a moving choir performance by 5th and 6th classes, and the attendance of our special guest Commander Quain, who took extra time out to speak to our students.

Our children are often exposed to a constant stream of information from the media which can portray our current times as one of great conflict and fear. While there are many conflicts and events throughout the world that are of grave concern, it is important to contrast this with the notion that on the whole we are living in peaceful times. We do have a lot to be thankful for and many reasons to have a positive approach to the future. In maintaining this peace it is important to realise the sacrifices that those before us have made and the core values which are often celebrated at this time of year, such as mateship, equality and ensuring a fair go for all.

I wish you and your family a productive, enjoyable and safe holiday period and I look forward to welcoming you all back to school for Term 2.
