During our Teachers’ January Study Week much consideration was given to John Colet School’s Vision Mission and Values, with discussion on how these relate very practically to how the school is run and how the curriculum is taught. We trust that the children will benefit as a result of this study, which was very inspiring to all, as it is the basis of what the School stands for.
An in-service session was also conducted on the teaching of Mathematics by Mr Peter Tompkins, a consultant with the Association of Independent Schools: this was related to the new Maths Syllabus which will be introduced in 2015. This was a follow-up session on one held in the December Teachers’ Week and was found to be very useful. Two sessions were also held on the use of IT in the classroom.
