Due to our wonderful WALK-A-THON I had to change the menu around last week, so I have added the delicious vegetable soup back in this week.
Our current Australian healthy food pyramid has changed since I was young, for the better! It now represents scientific facts of the nutritional requirements for our bodies to function at their best.
At the base, the rock-solid foundations are vegetables, legumes and fruits…a vegetarian base of fortitude and nutritional requirements for a healthy body. This is followed by lean proteins, complex carbohydrates and finally topped with ‘good’ oils.
This is yet another blazing example of the benefits of adding even one vegetarian meal in your day!
