Don’t forget your dairy!

There is some disturbing MIS-information out there about dairy foods contributing to weight gain and bloating. This couldn’t be further from the truth. We gain weight from excess consumption! Our bodies bloat due to chemical and hormonal changes in our bodies.

Australian health guidelines are now asking for the consumption of lower fat dairy foods because we have so many processed foods in our diet that are high in fat. Just make sure when choosing lower fat dairy products, it is NOT replaced with sugar!

Dairy products are full of calcium, protein and iodine. All essential for healthy growth and brain function, bone strength and great teeth. They also help reduce heart disease, hypertension, stroke and type 2 diabetes.

Check your labels and make yourself enjoy a little of something that tastes great.

Frozen berry yoghurt ice-cream:

1 bag of frozen berries of choice (400gr)
200 gr frozen mango
1kg tub of reduced fat-no extra sugar added Greek yoghurt (very cold)
1 tray ice cubes

Blend together, place into a tub and freeze.

If you want it straight away you will have the best tasting soft serve ‘Fro-Yo’ ever.

It would be a sad waste of an opportunity to eat badly!
