Each year John Colet School is honoured to have John Bell, founder of the Bell Shakespeare Company, visit to watch excerpts from our Shakespeare Festival plays.  As Patron of our Festival, he answers students’ questions about acting and Shakespeare, and it’s a great thrill for the children to perform in front of ‘Mr Bell’.

The John Colet School Primary Shakespeare Festival is held at Glen Street Theatre on 28th, 29th and 30th October.

This year the students are performing excerpts from:

Midsummer Night’s Dream (3rd class T), The Comedy of Errors (Third class J) and Henry V (4th class R) on Tuesday 28th October

Macbeth (5th D) and Julius Caesar (5th K) on Wednesday 29th October

Much Ado About Nothing (4th N) and As You Like It (6th class) on Thursday 30th October.

The Comedy of Errors has a Dr Seuss theme to the costuming and props, our Much Ado About Nothing is set in the ’70s and As you Like It, by the Year 6 students (pictured below with John Bell), is set in the Australian bush.

Tickets are available from the Glen Street Theatre.
