On Saturday 1st of November 2014, John Colet School sent two teams of 7 players (year 4 Joff, Anakin, Cullum, Nathan, Rory and Leo & year 6 Lucas, Patrick, Nathaniel, Xavier, Dom, Ryan and me, Jarod) to compete at the world cup .
The five countries competing were Australia, Germany, Italy, Armenia and Japan. We each played three games before the finals.
Our year six team won the first two games 7-0 and 3-0 with Lucas scoring six times in the first and once in the second, Ryan once in the first, Xavier once in the second and Dom once in the second. Our third game was a 0-0 draw then we waited for the finals.
Sadly the year 4s didn t qualify for the finals with one loss, one win and a draw. Then after a whole day’s play it came down to this, 7 minutes of intense futsal. After those seven minutes the final score was 0-0!! It went to penalties and I was goalie. This is what the penalties were (it was best of three and we shot second.)
1-1, 1-0, 0-1, 0-0, 0-0, 0-0, 1-1, 0- &1!!!!!!!!
We won!! It was an amazing day and we all had loads of fun.
