Year 2 students learning to make their points

Second classes have been practising writing expositions.  Here are some examples from 2M...

Should children wear uniforms to school?

I believe that we should wear uniforms to school.  Firstly, without uniforms you wouldn’t be safe!  For example, if you went to an excursion and you weren’t wearing a uniform, your teacher perhaps couldn’t find you.

Secondly, we must certainly try to wear a uniform to make sure we feel equal because if people can’t afford your clothes then they will feel sad.

Thirdly, I recommend that we should wear uniforms to school because it represents the school well and will show respect for our school.  If we all look nice people will think our school is nice.

I believe that we should wear uniforms to school because without uniforms people won’t be safe, some people won’t be equal and it represents the school well.

Should children do homework?

It is my opinion that children should learn to do homework.  Firstly, children should learn to do homework so they can be clever people when they are older.  They could have a better chance of getting into the job that they really want.

Secondly, children should learn to do homework in order for them to have good habits. If you don’t set good habits then you won’t be good at studying in high school and you won’t have good marks.

Lastly, everyone agrees that children should do homework so they can be as clever as they can.  Practising things over and over again will help you remember the things that you don’t know.

In summary, children should do homework so they can be clever when they’re older and for them to have good habits so they can be as clever as they can be.

I personally believe that children should not do homework because they have six hours learning at school.  When children finish school their brains are very tired so they need a rest.

My second point is that children should not do homework because they unfortunately hardly get any family time, which is important because you might only get to see that family member one minute in the morning and then the afternoon.

Thirdly, children simply should not do homework because then they might not be able to fit any activities in after school, like tennis, chess or lots of other things.

In conclusion, it is obvious that children should definitely not do homework because they already have six hours of school a day, they might not get any family time and they want to be able to fit in any extra activities after school.

Should children spend more time exercising?

I strongly agree that children should definitely spend more time exercising.  Many people agree that more time exercising keeps your body healthy.  It is very good for your heart and it makes your blood move faster.

My second point is that children should spend more time exercising because we want to be fast at running when we are older.

Thirdly and finally, children should spend more time exercising because it keeps you flexible.  Sometimes when you are not flexible you can have problems with your body.

In summary, many people agree that it is definitely better to spend more time exercising because it keeps your body healthy, it makes you fast at running and it keeps you flexible.
