Music Lessons update

Private music lessons this year are offered in the following instruments:  flute, violin, cello, piano and recorder. A new departure this year is lessons in recorder. All teachers will prepare students for practical examinations, either A.M.E.B. or Trinity College where suitable and required, and group ensembles will be set up where possible.  Lessons are during class time, of 30 minutes duration, and will be on a roster basis, so the same lesson is not repeatedly missed.   Cost is $38 per lesson.  (NB. A slight increase from previous years.)

Kathryn Crossing is joining our teaching ranks this term.  She has a Bachelor of Music from Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and an Associate from Trinity College and AMusA performance diplomas.  She was a member of the SBS Radio and Television Orchestra where she toured Italy in 2002 and Russia, in 2004.  In 2005 Kathryn toured Indonesia with the Bluescope Steel Youth Orchestra as their Associate Concert Master and in 2010 she toured France, Germany and Switzerland with the same group as their violin tutor.  Kathryn was concert master and frequent soloist for the Mosman Orchestra.  She taught at the Wollongong Conservatorium for 4 years before returning to Sydney to start her own studio, Crossing Strings.

Flute, piano and recorder lessons will commence week 2 from February 4th.  Violin, cello lessons will commence week 4 from February 18th.  Any queries regarding private music lessons please see the details in the Weekly Note for school parents.
