One of the school’s aims is to give our students an effective platform for their further education in high school and beyond. This is encapsulated in our mission. The anecdotal testimony of recently graduated John Colet alumni, their parents and occasionally even their high school teachers is pretty positive; as is the level of scholarships and entry into selective schools.
Another measure of our success in effective teaching is the NAPLAN test. This is a test of basic skills in Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar and Maths. Our record has been consistently good and the recently released results for 2011 show that the children who sat the tests last year have continued this fine tradition. I should like, publicly, to congratulate them, their teachers and their parents.
And this academic success goes hand in hand with that other important aspect of education – character-development and spiritual values.
