As I was putting the veg order away this morning, and prepping veg for today and the start of next week, it occurred to me that I should take a few photos to share with you the fruit and vegetables that we use and are getting into the kids here at the school on a weekly basis.
Every dish that we do at the school is packed with veg along with the salad and fruit offerings on the table. Please rest assured that your children are getting their 5 a day and even more.
Compost
As you may be aware the school is getting into composting in a big way – I just wanted to share the kitchen’s contribution to this. With food scraps like these we should have the barrels full in no time at all.
Monday – Roasted sweet potatoes with sour cream and Guacamole
Tuesday – Vegetarian hotdogs
Wednesday – Vegetable parcels
Thursday – Cream of tomato and basil soup
Friday – Gnocchi in pesto sauce
