One of the things we pride ourselves on in the kitchen is our cleanliness and hygiene before, during and after our lunch service.
Keeping a healthy clean kitchen can seem difficult but it is just a solid rulebook that everyone in the school kitchen follows.
Here are some simple tips:
∑ Use airtight containers and, for longer storage, use sealed glass jars.
∑ Rotate all foods in cupboards and place new items to the back.
∑ Scrub your chopping boards and salt wooden boards to kill germs.
∑ Throw out foods you thought were a good idea but never use.
∑ Use Bi-Carbonate of Soda to clean cupboards and benches.
∑ Label and date all foods going into the freezer.
∑ My favourite, never leave food in/on the sink and clean down the tap after each use.
