BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS OF MIKE MACDONALD
Mike is a Clinical Psychologist and Clinic Director of NorthPsych, Roseville. He has had more than 20 years of clinical experience providing clinical and educational support to children and families in Sydney. Mike holds Masters Degrees from The London School of Economics (MSC), The University of London: Institute of Education (MA) and Macquarie University (M. Clin Psych). Mike has a special interest in child and adolescent trauma, attachment, refugee support, neurophysiology, paediatric clinical hypnosis and narrative therapy. He works closely with parents to provide survival strategies to cope with anxiety, stress, trauma and unforeseen events.
Mike is a Clinical Supervisor for Masters Psychology interns from the University of Western Sydney (UWS), Sydney University and Macquarie University and regularly consults for schools belonging to the Association of Independent Schools. He consults for the Family Court, the professional and medical communities, as well as non-profit organisations such as Lifeline.
He has previously taught at Macquarie University, Sydney University and the NSW Institute of Psychiatry. He has also worked at Villawood and Baxter Immigration Detention Centres.
