From our P&F – Welcome Back

Hi families, Welcome back to school. I hope that you are staying safe and well. What challenging times we’ve seen these past few months. I feel so incredibly grateful for this lovely community of families at JCS that have supported me and my family and especially grateful to the teachers and staff that have worked so hard to support our children.  I’m sure that you all feel the same. To express our gratitude and P&F will cater a lunch for the teachers and staff on the pupil free day in Term 3 (it’s the first Monday of Term 3). In addition we intend to create a video with thank and gratitude from parents and pupils which we will edit together …

From our P&F

Dear parents, These past few weeks have been a difficult time for everyone. Each of us has been impacted by COVID-19 whether through work disruption and uncertainty, difficulty in our daily routines or the heightened anxiety about the health and well being of our loved ones. We are incredibly lucky to be part of a school that is so committed to the health, safety and enrichment of our children. Whether we all know each other’s names or not, we (together with our teachers and staff) are all part of this community and I hope that we can continue to show our support and respect for it.   Community support I believe that one of the best things we can do at …

From our P&F

Thanks to all the parents that joined us for the P&F meeting on Monday. Please look out for the minutes from this month’s meeting – they’ll be sent out by your class parent in the next few days.  The area of sustainability has been raised and we’re looking at opportunities to refrain, reuse and recycle in P&F events and more generally – if this is something that you’re passionate about to and you’d like to help please let me know.   There are some community and fundraising events that we’re arranging: 4th April – Trivia Night – Look out for the posters around the school and please book by March 20th – this is going to be lots of fun! …

From our P&F

We are on the final furlong and I feel exhausted just looking at all the wonderful events happening this term, which will be over in a blink of an eye!   This Monday is the final P&F for the year so do come along.  The majority of the discussion will be setting the scene for 2019.  Then our AGM is being held the following Monday 5th November at MoMokko Japanese Restaurant in Glenrose time to be decided.   Trivia Night was a lot of fun and despite the torrential rain and thunder storm doing its best to discourage us, 50 parents, teachers and friends formed teams to do battle of the minds, and tables judging by the wonderful spreads they brought.  …

From the P&F

What a wonderful day we had on Sunday.  It is a great opportunity for the John Colet community to come together and show what we can do as a collective.  The classrooms all looked amazing, the children’s performances were brilliant, the stalls gave us such wonderful food and entertainment and we were blessed with glorious autumnal weather.  It is the only day the whole school gets together as an extended family and it’s a great chance for us parents to catch up too. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces, some of whom have moved on.  Of course this day wouldn t be possible without the myriad of help that happened behind the scenes prior, during and after …
