The builders started work on Monday 10th September rebuilding Colet House which was severely damaged by fire earlier in the year. The building company is Johns Lyng Group, the same people who are rebuilding Masada College after their school fire. They specialise in rebuilding after disasters. We expect it to be complete by the end of the year, weather permitting.
Initial preparations for the lighting of the wombat crossing have begun and during the September school holidays the lighting itself will be installed and the footpath in front of the school property will be completed.
Plans for the roof of the COLA (covered outdoor learning area) are being modified to make it more in keeping with neighbouring buildings. These will shortly be sent to council for approval and we aim to construct it over the summer holidays.
A lift will be installed between Shakespeare and Chisholm House at the end of the year to increase access to the first floor.
The Administration Building alterations and additions, delayed by the fire, should begin sometime in 2013.
