A Sanskrit chanting class is being made available on Wednesdays after school. These classes have been held at home to date with a small group of children from JCS. We can move the class to school as other parents have expressed an interest. The classes are taken by a young man, Shankar Athreiya, who is a student of Sanskrit and has been taught chanting as a familial tradition. He studies engineering at university. Shankar travels from Liverpool and is committed to these classes. The children are very fond of him and have enjoyed the classes for the last year.
There are two groups (beginner and intermediate) who learn for 30 minutes each. One class will start at 3.10pm and the other at approximately 3.40pm. Fees are $15 per child. A minimum of 8 children will be required to hold these classes at school (we have 5 at the moment).
Please contact Indu or Libby by 30th May on indu.balachandran@gmail.com/ or ealevay@hotmail.com/ if you are interested in more information or would like to enrol your child. We may start earlier in Term 2 if there is sufficient interest.
