Shrove Tuesday traditionally involves the cooking of pancakes to use up ‘left overs’ before the beginning of Lent, which is celebrated in the Christian calendar leading up to Easter. Our two Second Classes (Year 2) were excited and well prepared for their morning of pancake making, arriving aproned up and ready to cook. Thank you to the parents who came in to help! Instructions were read, flour measured, eggs cracked and batter stirred. Then, all the children settled down to pancakes with homemade jam.
