Some newsy updates this week

Twice as long as any year before (1.5hours) with solos on Piano, Violin, Guitar, Electric Guitar, Ukelele, Cello, Oboe and Flute, our Instrumental Concert this week was a great show of developing talent!  There were also group performances by the Beginner Violins and the JC Ensemble, and all performers finished the night with a choir piece.  Well done students and a special thanks to Rosy Davidson and all our music teachers for coordinating the evening.

On Friday both John Colet teams won their debates against St Luke’s.  The topic was ‘That large pets should be banned in cities’ and John Colet had both an affirmative and negative team.  Our debaters have made incredible progress with their debating skills and have grown in confidence and maturity.  We look forward to our three remaining debates in Term 3.

And congratulations to our chess team who this week came first in the heats of the Interschool Chess Challenge at St.Bernard’s Catholic School.
The have qualified through to the semi finals in Term 3. Well done all!
