On Wednesday 26th March, 15 students from John Colet competed at the Northern Beaches Primary Schools Chess Challenge 2014. 72 Teams (216 students) from across the Northern Beaches played 7 rounds of chess at Mona Vale Public School. The John Colet children were magnificent – wonderfully behaved, great sportsmen and sportswomen. What a great day.
The Bonus is the result – our A Team WON, with a perfect score!!!
This is the first time John Colet has ever won this tournament and the first time I can recall a perfect score from a John Colet team.
Secondly, our D team (all girls) came 2nd in the Girls’ division!
The final points ended up as follows:
Team A – (Jarod C, Ryan B, Sean B ) – 21 points: All 3 won all their games!!
Team B – (Xavier S, Dominic S, Lucas van de S) – 13.5 points
Team E – (Daniel S, Thomas J, Kai P) – 12 points
Team C – (Nathan C, Justin T, Harry P) – 11 points
Team D – (Brigitte S, Mi Mi P, Ashleigh E) – 11 points: 2nd Place in the Girls division!!
Such a fabulous effort and such a privilege to watch them all do so well.
