Some of our Year 6 students, selected because they are especially keen on creative writing and reading, visited the Hogwarts-esque ICMS venue this week, for the Children’s Book Council of Australia student event.
The amazing day was for students from 20 different schools from around the Northern Beaches. Our girls were seated for lunch with Australian author Kate Forsyth, and had the opportunity to meet and talk with 20 other authors and illustrators.
They were treated to a keynote address from author Tim Harris who spoke about his writing inspirations and they participated in an illustration workshop lead by Matt Cosgrove.
The girls declared it was the best event they had been to all year!
