On Monday, 5th class had a visit from Fizzics Education to further our studies about Natural Disasters. Jeanette the co-ordinator talked us through what causes disasters and how the tectonic plates on the Earth’s crust can move and lift. There were lots of experiments for us to investigate including spreading a pandemic, blowing up a Bernoulli bag and making our very own tornado in a bottle! We even got to make a pretend solar flare and exploding volcanoes. It was such a lot of fun and we all agreed that we had learnt a great deal from the hands-on activities.
