Our school community came together on Monday to celebrate Teacher’s Day. Each child thoughtfully prepared a piece of writing about someone who has made—or continues to make—a meaningful impact in their life. One student from each class was selected to share their reflections at assembly, and it was truly moving to hear such a diverse and heartfelt range of stories. Teachers come in many forms: they might be in your classroom, part of your family, a friend, or someone in the wider community who inspires you. What defines a great teacher is not just their knowledge, but the way they help us see the world differently. To discover great teachers in life, we must first be open to learning …

This term, our value in focus is Courage—and we’ve begun our exploration by drawing on the thoughtful insights shared by students during our recent assemblies. When asked what courage meant to them, our students offered broad and heartfelt responses: The courage to do something even when you feel afraid The courage to try your best The courage to admit a mistake The courage to stand up for a friend However, it was this student’s reflection that will shape our discussions moving forward: The courage to stay true to your beliefs, and also the courage to listen and maybe change them. On exhibition in the entrance area of our school are the self-portraits of our 6th Class students.  Each one of these artworks is a testament to their creativity and care. This outstanding work is the result of a rich and continuous art program, introduced from the earliest years. It reflects an inspiring environment for both teaching and learning, supported by dedicated artists who understand how deeply young students engage with art. With mindfulness embedded across our school, children are present, attentive, and connected to their creative process. We warmly invite you to visit and enjoy this beautiful showcase. A busy start to Term 2

Despite the damp weather and a sharp drop in temperature to start the term, the enthusiasm of our students and teachers, remains undimmed. It is always heartwarming to see the children reconnect after a break, especially the reunions between our 6th Class students and their Lower 1st buddies. These friendships are a treasured part of our school culture. Looking ahead, we are excited for the P&F Movie Night next Saturday. We are keeping everything crossed for clear skies, but rest assured, our ever-prepared P&F team has a cosy indoor option ready if the weather doesn’t cooperate. Either way, it promises to be a wonderful evening, and we hope to see many of you there! Julian Wilcock …

A special thank you to our Parents and Friends Association, everyone who helped on the evening, and those who generously donated auction items. Your support and dedication made this event a resounding success! Julian Wilcock …
